IT’S TIME TO NOMINATE OUR ISLAND STEWARDS!

Do you have a friend or neighbor who takes exceptional care of their land? A teacher who inspires students to understand and care for the environment? A business that has been a leader in sustainable business practices?

Each year the Stewardship Network of the San Juans presents Good Steward Awards to islanders committed to preserving and protecting the San Juan Islands, and we need your nominations. If you know someone who deserves this award, please submit your nomination by April 3, 2015.

To see past winners, nomination forms and award guidelines, click on GOOD STEWARD AWARDS above.

NOT A MEMBER OF THE STEWARDSHIP NETWORK?

Members agree that working together as a coalition is beneficial. While each organization has its own specific mission purpose and structure, we all share the common goal of caring for our island environment. As a member, you will:

  • Join a community network that meets regularly to share ideas, collaborate to accomplish stewardship goals and develop and strengthen partnerships.
  • Become eligible for ECO Net grant opportunities and hear about other funding sources.
  • Have the opportunity to publicize your organization’s events on our community calendar.
  • Learn about professional development programs and take part in education and outreach collaboration at events such as Earth Day and the San Juan County Fair Green Village.

If you would like more information about membership, please come to one of our monthly membership meetings (see below) or contact us for more information at stewardshipnetwork@gmail.com.
